Obesity is now epidemic in the USA, yet we have so many exercise and fitness facilities equipped with all the right stuff for getting rid of those unwanted pounds.

There are exercise centers that cater to men and women in every age group. Some stay open around the clock. Some offer daycare, personalized exercise programs, youth programs, organized classes, fitness assessments and even dietary weight loss plans.

Many fitness centers start you up with an initial assessment, a personalized exercise plan and continuous consultation for free with your membership.

If you’re a mom with small children, you can choose a fitness center with built-in daycare facilities, and do your exercising while the kiddies play in supervised safety.

If you’d rather not exercise in mixed company, there are fitness centers that either designate special times for men only or women only, or they have segregated facilities.

Most fitness centers offer Pilates, aerobics and other forms of organized and instructed exercise programs for toning and cardiovascular health. When you join you’ll get the class schedule. Then most fitness centers will send you a monthly newsletter and calendar showing updated information about facility changes, class offerings and what have you.

If you work for a company that values the importance of employee health, you might find that your fitness center membership is free. On average, a healthy employee costs an employer $1000 dollars less per year than the coworker who doesn’t participate in exercise programs. By financing free memberships for their employees, companies really do cut medical costs and absenteeism.

If your company doesn’t offer such a plan, your monthly gym membership should more than pay for itself fewer medical bills just because regular exercise strengthens your immune system and helps you feel and perform your best.

Everywhere, fitness centers and gyms make it so easy for you to access the exercise equipment and programs that are exactly right for you. Take advantage of them to maintain your proper weight and your health because after all, health is your most valuable asset.
