Home Remedies Alone Cannot Solve The Problem Of Puffy Eyes
When we think of ageing we immediately we think in terms of lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, bags under the eyes and dark circles under the eyes and invariably we believe that invasive therapy is sometimes the only answer.
However forking out on a surgical facelift is not the only way to rejuvenation; there are other less drastic strategies that can work almost as well as surgery.
Drinking water will keep you hydrated and improve the appearance of your skin, drinking plenty of water can also flush out toxins in your system and therefore assist in your overall well being too.
Tiredness can sometimes be the main reason for puffy eyes and troubling dark circles under the eyes. Our busy everyday lives can prevent us from getting the extra sleep we need as we age and it is not only extra hours of sleep that can have benefit but quality sleep is important too.
If you have a certain amount of stress in your life this can and will also affect your skin, your body will find it difficult to cope and you will begin to see the darkness starting to appear under your eyes and you will look stressed and tired out. Take time out for yourself, time to relax and listen to your favourite music. Learning to relax and de-stress does more than calm your mind it calms both your body and your skin too
Keeping out of the sun will benefit your skin, around 80 or so per cent of premature aging of the skin is caused by over exposure to the sun. Unprotected exposure not only can be the cause of skin cancers but can cause skin damage in the form of lines and wrinkles. This damage caused to our skin by the harmful ultraviolet radiation can take up to 10 years to appear on your skin. Even on cloudy days the harmful UVA & UVB rays from the sun can penetrate clouds and you could be caught out because on a cloudy day it is less likely that you will be wearing a sunscreen.
Environmental factors, pollution, sun radiation and cigarette smoke create those free radicals we all hear about, they are absorbed by natural processes into our bodies and they attack the cell and tissue make up creating health risks and damage to our skin. To counteract free radicals we need an antidote and we can find this in the foods we eat. It is therefore important that we find the correct foods, the correct vitamins to repair cell damage and slow down the aging process. Those important vitamins we need are Vitamin A, found in carrots, spinach, kale and apricots, Vitamin C…berries, citrus fruits, Brussels sprouts, cabbage and other green leafy vegetables. Vitamin E…nuts, seeds, oats and grains. Oily fish such as mackerel, salmon and sardines provide essential fatty acids, also important in the quest for youthful looking skin.
Everyone knows that smoking is bad for your health but it can also be detrimental to your skin. Not only will smoking cause permanent lines around your mouth and those dark circles under the eyes, it will age your skin by as much as 10 years and again the damage will not appear immediately, you’ll see it there in the mirror in later years and won’t you be sorry then?
Cut down on your alcohol consumption, too much too frequently will leave you and your skin dehydrated, it will restrict blood vessels and in turn circulation, denying skin cells the oxygen and nutrients they need to stay plump and new. The outcome will be dull, sallow looking skin making you appear older than your years.
We can spend our hard earned money on face creams and cleansers but actually how many of us realise that there are other prerequisites required to help make our skin look and feel younger. Getting the right frame of mind is important too for good skin, it involves a combination of getting the right amount of sleep, changing your lifestyle for the better, drinking plenty of water, getting the right nutrients from the foods we eat, exercise and fresh air, all these things. Without that frame of mind any over the counter product you may choose will not assist you in your goal to stay looking good for ever.
