Will Breast Augmentation Leave A Scar After
There are so many variables associated with any surgical procedure that the ability to say for certain that a potential breast augmentation will or will not have an unsightly scar is not physically possible. It is important to note that although the breast augmentation is a surgical procedure, the body sees it as an injury and therefore will start producing scar tissue as a means to repair the injury and prevent any further injuries to the area. This is a natural body reaction. Depending on each individual person’s body and the care in which the surgeon performs the procedure can determine whether an incision causes a big unsightly scar. Remember that the less the body is irritated the less it thinks it was injured and therefore works less at making the scar tissue to protect the incision.
It is obvious that immediately following the surgical breast augmentation procedure the scar tissue will be very noticeable even if it is only a small amount and may appear to be unsightly at first. Most of these smaller scars will gradually fade overtime until they are blended into the pigment of the surrounding skin. Another possible variable is the body’s control over its pigment. Should the body have any small issue with its pigment control then the scar will take longer to fade but many creams are available now to help with this issue.
No matter what you do though it is not possible for a scar to completely disappear. It will still be noticeable by a trained eye and since it is on your body and you look at it daily, it may be more noticeable to you than to anyone else. Any breast augmentation patient’s goal for this scar tissue is that it blends in with the surrounding dermis without an issue. Sometime it never will. As stated previously though, even if the scar itself refuses to blend in with the surrounding skin does not mean that you are stuck with the scar. You can use any number of pigment enhancing creams to help fad the scar away or even opt to go in microderm or laser resurfacing procedure to take the highpoints of the scar away. This will lead to new scar tissue but it is more readily controlled than it would be with an incision wound.
