If someone has ever gone to a large shopping department store and visited the pharmacy section, they will have probably noticed all of the different stop smoking aids. There are many brand named aids and the stores own brands listed all together. Whether it is nicotine gum, lozenges or even patches, there is an abundance of aids for every different need. Dependant on the level of smoking that a person does, there are different types of aids varying levels to assist a smoker to step down from the varying nicotine levels until quitting is made easier.
The first aid to stop smoking to look at is the nicotine chewing gum. A lot of the gums are made with four milligram or two milligram doses. For many people, the four milligram chewing gum helps to quell the real severe cravings that come from nicotine addiction. When the big attacks are under control they will step down to two milligram of gum and then slowly wean themselves from the nicotine addiction. Lozenges are another stop smoking aid to discuss. Instead of chewing the lozenges are to be sucked like a lifesaver candy. Many people will prefer the lozenges against the chewing gum, chewing while in a meeting or speaking to a group of people is viewed as bad manners. They can go on throughout their day without fear of offending others. These lozenges are also available in different flavors and different brands.

For a large number of people, the use of a nicotine patch is the best way to go. They do not have to cease and utilize something to quell the nicotine cravings. Patches stay on throughout theday and many smokers forget that they are there while they are busy at work. Patches work very much select which aid will be the best for them.
